irish chain: an irish chain quilt, rendered in 1997's hottest shades of rose pink, dark sage green and cream. The green floral and cream squares form x's, leaving large diamonds of rose in the middle. The binding is old green, and the quilt is held vertically by a pair of black-stockinged legs against a weathered barn, partly white and partly mossy. — Houghton 04 — irish chain
